And the good news is Wigan Council has given the revised plans the green light.
Wigan backed the original application in May 2016 but this was changed after the feedback received was for more houses and more restaurants.
The latest plans include four restaurants , a wedding venue and a wine bar, and housing will now consist of 12 luxury one-and-two bed apartments, two penthouse apartments and 14 family homes.
“Many locals told us they preferred houses to apartments so we decided to include houses in the plan . Originally it was all apartments,” says Redwaters director Sean McCaul .
The new plans still include stunning landscaped gardens, and there has been considerable interest not just in people wanting to live on the site, but in the commercial space too, says Mr McCaul.
“I think people will be thrilled with the companies who want to open here and we expect to make an official announcement in Feb 2017,” he added.
Prices for the houses and apartments will be released in April 2017 but interested parties can put their name down on a list now and will be the first to hear.
