Putting their best foot forward for victoria
Victoria Harris was a female with a taste for adventure.
The 24-year-old was always out climbing mountains, and had completed several marathons and a gruelling Tough Mudder challenge.
Last year while out on an adventure with her mum , Carol Allenby Carr, walking the popular fell, Haystacks, in the Lake District, Victoria fell and suffered fatal head injuries.
Now her mum and three friends are to tackle one of the world’s most iconic peaks – Mount Kilimanjaro - and scatter her ashes. Carol, who is the partner of Redwaters director, Neil Cartwright, says Victoria had always wanted to climb Kilimanjaro and not only would she be with Carol every step of the way, but a part of her would remain on the beautiful mountain.
Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain and the highest free standing mountain in the world. It is situated in the Northern part of Tanzania and around 35,000 people attempt to climb it every year.
Experts say the two key things for climbers is mental strength and altitude. Climbers can get altitude sickness if they climb too high too quick and suffer headaches and vomiting and struggle with their digestive system.
Carol, who is 54, is climbing Kilimanjaro with Red

We love Ripponden. Oh yes we do.
So much so that we have started work on our second development in the pretty West Yorkshire village.
Ripponden Vale is an exclusive development of nine properties on the site of a former garage at Dam Top. The gated scheme will consist of a mixture of detached and semi-detached houses along with some bespoke apartments. The spacious three and four bedroom houses will all have garages, and overlook the River Ryburn. They will also have gardens and a woodland area.
